Nissan gives Renault a lift (International Herald Tribune)
Renault, the No. 2 carmaker in France, said Wednesday that first-half profit jumped 54 percent as the company received a higher contribution to earnings from its Japanese affiliate, Nissan Motor.

Garciaparra pleased with first rehab start (The State)
PEORIA, Ill. - Chicago Cubs shortstop Nomar Garciaparra drove in two runs Wednesday night in his first rehabilitation game for the team's Class-A affiliate in Peoria."All in all, I was pleased," Garciaparra said. "We were talking about maybe just three at-bats and then I was going 'Let's finish this game.' I think that says a lot."
